Architectural Digest - Soho Warehouse Debuted in L.A.

South Santa Fe Avenue came alive Saturday night as the latest addition to L.A.'s burgeoning Arts District made its debut. Soho Warehouse, the latest offering from Soho House, celebrated its upcoming October 14 opening with a bang. The third West Coast address of the members-only club hosted a festive evening with live music, gourmet food, and even a troupe of synchronized swimmers.

Guests wandered the the seven-story venue, sipping cocktails and admiring the design elements of the space. Soho Warehouse, which was decorated by Soho House’s in-house design team, is full of thoughtfully crafted elements. A metallic glazed fireplace in the communal Club Room nods to the Art Deco style so prevalent in Los Angeles, while the mix of vintage upholstered seating spread throughout offers an eclectic yet homey touch.

Several stories of the new Soho Warehouse were open for partygoers to explore.

Pieces by local artists and makers, such as a wallpaper installation by Genevieve Gaignard and terrazzo-printed chaise lounges designed by MoonCloth and Ethan Lipsitz, are scattered throughout the project. Exposed brick and graffiti cover the walls, reminding visitors of the space's industrial setting.

The opening party kicked off with an Instagrammable performance by the synchronized swimming group Aquabatix in the rooftop pool. Shortly thereafter, guests crowded the dance floor for a musical act by King Princess and a DJ set by Boy George later in the night. On lower floors, acrobats performed aerial routines in a split-level gym, and a tattoo artist set up shop in the largest guest room for any partygoers interested in commemorating the memorable evening with ink.
